Chielson Real Estate ("Chielson", "we", "us") respects your privacy and processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have.
1. Who we are

2. What personal data we collect
- Contact details: name, address, email, phone number;
- Identification & verification data required under the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act (Wwft): ID document, date of birth, nationality, BSN where applicable, UBO information;
- Financial data for tenant or buyer screening: income, employer, guarantor details, bank statements;
- Property and transaction data;
- Website data: information you submit via our forms, and limited technical data (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
- Performance of a contract — to deliver our brokerage, search, valuation and management services;
- Legal obligation — identity verification and record-keeping under the Wwft and tax law;
- Legitimate interest — to assess candidates, prevent fraud, and improve our services;
- Consent — where you have given it, e.g. for certain communications.
4. Who we share data with
We share data only where necessary with landlords or sellers, NWWI-registered appraisers, civil-law notaries, mortgage advisors, and — where legally required — competent authorities. Processors (e.g. IT and email providers) act on our instructions under a processing agreement. We do not sell your data.
5. How long we keep your data
We retain data no longer than necessary: Wwft client files for 5 years after the engagement ends, fiscal records for 7 years (10 years for real-estate transactions), and other data for as long as required for the purposes above or by law.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact info@chielson.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access.
